First I would like to start off with a disclaimer. ::If You Are Not A Fan Of Tarantino or Rodriguez, The You Probably Won't Find These Films Blockbusters::
Now that the disclaimer is out of the way, lets get to the review:
Death Proof: Tarantino
This is typical Tarantino style of cinematography and writing. Lots of dialogue that usually doesn't mean much, and lots of foot shots. (Tarantino has a foot fetish, don't let him lie.) Overall it was an OK movie, definitely not to the caliber of his greats like "Pulp Fiction". Lots of action and gore. Blood=Good in a Tarantino film. It has an interesting plot revovling around a Psycho Stunt man...amazingly enough named "Stunt Man Mike". There isn't much to the plot, so I am going to leave it there and let you see for yourself.
It hurts me to give this review:
3 out 5: Less Talk and More Action. Tarantino could have done a better job.
Part Deux-Planet Terror:
This was definitely the better part of the Grindhouse double feature. Tons of action and a plot that isn't so simple you give away the whole movie in one sentence. It plays on the idea of World Domination and zombified humans. Just with Rose McGowan. (Sexy Sexy Sexy) Making the whole thing worth it. Fergie makes a small part in the film which is a downside. Rodriguez had some interesting cinematography, but definitely held true to the Grindhouse ideals with grainy images and the like. All this gore and death coming from the man who made the great SpyKids children series.
4 out of 5: Rodriguez out performs and out gores.
Part Tres - The Fake Trailers
These were some of the best parts of the whole Grindhouse double feature. I suggest that they actually make 2 of the movies. Machette and Rob Zombie's Werewolf women of the SS. I would love to post the videos, but the F.C.C. Would get on my ass about it.
5 out of 5: Definitely a good time during the intermission.
All in all Grindhouse is a must see for those into the original horror movies, just with a little more gore, and the same funny acting and plots.
